Class Description
Join us for an afternoon of knitting, fiber arts and fun. Learn to how to knit, weave and felt, making projects you can finish at home. Finding expression through art helps children not only learn new lifelong habits, but enriches academic learning capacity and retention. Through trying new techniques, that at time can be frustrating, children will learn valuable tools like emotional and self-regulation techniques and perseverance through adversity. The best part is, with all the undercover learning, your child will have fun and make new friends!

Suggested for children aged 8-13, who can work independently when directed. Class size will be limited to 6. Please dress appropriately for weather, as we may spend some time outdoors. Water bottles that can be tightly closed and small, mess-free snacks are permitted. Parents do not need to stay on-site for the class, but a release waiver will need to be signed at drop-off. Children are to be dropped off and picked up no more than 15 minutes outside of class time. 

About the Instructor
Christince Vumai is a mother of 4, who has worked professionally with children for decades. She has taught yoga to all grade levels at USD 259, and through Wichita Parks and Recreation. She is also a Museum Teacher and Yoga Instructor to children of all ages at Wichita Art Museum. Christince has also worked as a Crisis Counselor at Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center and an advocate at the Women’s Shelter through HumanKind. Her vast experience of teaching yoga, raising children, and extensive training in trauma response based care, makes her a patient, compassionate and attentive instructor.

Cancellation Policy
If minimum number of students is not met 48 hours before scheduled class time, class will be cancelled and refunded. Students will be notified by email.
Cancellations with more than 48 hours notice will receive full refunds.
Cancellations with 24-48 hours notice will receive 50% refunds.
Cancellations within 24 hours or no shows will not be refunded.
